This policy explains what information Matcha Select collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to your use of the Matcha Select website and app.
1. Information we collect
When you create a Matcha Select account we collect the information you provide directly: your name, email address, date of birth, photos, location, and the details you add to your profile (bio, prompts, interests, and preferences). We also collect information about how you use the app, such as the profiles you view, the interests you express, and your messages with matches.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to run the core of the product: showing you relevant profiles, letting you express interest and match, enabling messaging once a match happens, and keeping the community genuine and safe. We may also use it to communicate with you about your account, respond to support requests, and improve the app.
3. What we share, and with whom
Other members can see the profile information you choose to make visible - your photos, bio, prompts, and the details you add. We do not sell your personal data. We only share information with third parties where necessary to operate the service (for example, hosting and email delivery providers) or where required by law.
4. Location information
If you enable location-based discovery, we use an approximate point (not your exact address) to show you nearby members and to be shown to them. This approximate location is never displayed on your profile - it is used only to power distance-based matching.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your profile information within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain certain records for legal or safety reasons.
6. Your choices and rights
You can review and update most of your profile information at any time from Settings. You can also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us using the details below.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your data protected.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as Matcha Select evolves. If we make material changes, we'll let current members know before the changes take effect.
